From solid limestone bedrock, this is one of the most understated, elegant wines of the tasting. Christmann plays the long game, and these wines get finer and finer with age. The nose is shy and the palate comes with a straight-laced, lemony, completely disarming directness. This is taut and fresh, the lemon for now setting the tone but gentler fruit slumbers on this very dry, slender, concentrated and utterly poised Riesling. Drinking Window 2022 - 2050
