It's waxy and aromatic, with sappy notes alongside oatmeal, citrus and wet stone. The palate is floral, layered and effortlessly nuanced, the one-third new oak enhancing its complexity. Fine pure and fresh bouquet, yellow fruit then a touch saline, could/should this have been picked earlier? Just a minor quibble. Medium intensity for this vineyard but with a very satisfying follow through. Electric intensity.

The palate is medium-bodied with a fine bead of acidity, commendable weight and density in the mouth and some lovely baked bread notes toward the finish. For me, it just needs more bite, more nervosité, a facet that might have been denied by the warmth of the growing season. Still, this should drink well over the next couple of decades.- NM
