Oak is never a strong influence in this domaine's wines - 'if I could use no new barrels, I would,' says François Mikulski - and it's barely noticeable on this scented, pithy white from a premier cru that often makes much broader wines than this. It's sappy and bright, with alluring pear and tangerine fruit and refreshing acidity.

A naturally spicy array offers up a hint of Asian-style jasmine tea that adds a touch of elegance to the essence of pear and white flower-scented nose. The cool, pure and caressing middle weight flavors exude a subtle minerality on the super-saline, classy and balanced finish. This lilting and wonderfully delicate effort reflects impeccable balance and is a wine that should age effortlessly.
