As I predicted from barrel, the 2017 Vosne-Romanée Village has the edge over its Chambolle counterpart this year, exhibiting a deep bouquet of wild berries, smoked duck, spices and creamy new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with a textural attack and good depth at the core, built around powdery tannins and lively acids. - William Kelley

90+ The 2017 Vosne-Romanée AC from Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat is also a fine example of its level, offering up impressive purity on the nose in its mix of black raspberries, black cherries, raw cocoa, gamebird and a lovely base of dark soil tones. On the palate the wine is refined, focused and full-bodied, with a sappy core of fruit, impressive mineral drive, moderate tannins and a long, vibrant and really well-balanced finish. This is delicious juice in the making.
