The 2017 Meursault-Blagny Premier Cru comes from the southern part of Meursault, from 35-year-old vines, and spent 11 months in neutral barrels. It has a beautiful perfume of white flowers, honeysuckle, mulled stone fruits, and oysters shell-like minerality. It’s medium-bodied, has good concentration, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish. It’s impeccably made and well worth seeking out. It should keep for 5-7 years.

This is intense, with an underlying mineral element setting the pace for chalky apple, lemon and white peach flavors. The light oak notes show on the long, taut aftertaste. Precise and racy. Best from 2020 through 2028. 600 cases made, 150 cases imported. — BS
