(96-98 points) Powerful weighty colour. The nose is not there at first, just a sense of weight and wood. Then some delicate dark raspberry notes start to emerge. A little sterner than the lacy grace of Clos de Bèze. Magical and detailed little dark fruits, bilberries, a feeling of very small berries. This wins in the middle of the palate whereas the Clos de Bèze showed better out of the blocks. Dense, darker slightly more concentrated fruit at the back, a little closer to black, then the stems provide refreshment for the finale. Tasted: November 2018.
