Straight-up incredible notes of blackberries, raspberries, violets, incense, spiced meats, and bacon fat literally soar from the glass, and it's reminiscent of a Côte Rôtie from the likes of Guigal, yet on steroids. Deep, full-bodied, and powerful, it nevertheless stays light and graceful on the palate, with a seamless texture and ripe tannins. Beautifully polished, full-bodied, seamless, and long, it's awesome stuff. collapse

A rush of inky blue/purplish fruit, spice, lavender, graphite and menthol builds in this potent, virile Syrah. The OGT is the most tannic and structured of Tensley's 2017s, but it has plenty of the vintage's lushness and appeal as well. -- Antonio Galloni collapse

Full-bodied and intense in the mouth, it has lots of latent savory notions buried under the puppy dog fruit, with firm, youthfully chewy tannins and bold freshness, finishing long and layered. This needs more time in bottle.- EB collapse
