Checking in as a mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, the 2018 Vin Perdu comes from a handful of all east-facing Napa Valley sites and was brought up in barrel. Its deeper ruby/plum color gives way to a spicy, savory wine with plenty of red and black fruits, lead pencil shavings, dried earth, and a touch of chocolate on the nose. These carry over to the palate, where the wine is medium to full-bodied and has a wonderful freshness, silky, light tannins, and a great finish. This is another balanced, elegant, seamless wine from winemaker Heidi Barrett that can be drunk today or cellared for 10-15 years.
