Medium ruby-purple, it's scented of dark cherries, blueberries, bergamot and gravel dust with undertones of fir. Medium-bodied, grainy and seamlessly fresh, it offers intense, powerful fruits and a broody streak of graphite on the long finish.

Built for the cellar, this beauty has some classic bright darker cherry and raspberry-like fruits supported by notions of background oak, scorched earth, and bouquet garni. With bright acidity, medium-bodied richness, and building, firm, yet ripe tannins, it’s best forgotten for 2-3 years and is another wine that should have 10-15 years of overall longevity.

It captures the natural exuberance of Anderson Valley with plenty of stylishness. Dark cherry, plum, tobacco, licorice, spice and menthol build into the heady, substantial finish. -- Antonio Galloni
