Wine Enthusiast, April 2019
(95–97) Barrel Sample. This wine's ripeness is intense, just hinting at an impressive future. The dry core of botrytis balances the honey and the spice, along with fresh lemon curd. This is likely to be a very fine wine.

The palate is alive with energetic tropical fruit and exotic spice notes with a lovely satiny texture and fantastic freshness, finishing with epic length. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown

It has a strong golden colour, suggesting concentration, followed by luscious fruit flavours through the palate of apricot, peach, nectarine and cantaloupe melon, and bitter herbs on the finish. 50% new oak was used. A yield of just 3hl/ha. Read more at https://www.decanter.com/wine-reviews/france/bordeaux/cha-teau-coutet-sauternes-1er-cru-classe-bordeaux-2018-29843#7TyvY6TT7XOtrm55.99

(90-93 points) Lush, creamy and overt, with almond, ginger cream and maple notes draped over a dried apricot core. Displays good oomph but needs to stretch out a bit. Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. Drink now.- JM

The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity courtesy of its limestone soils. This has good tension even if the finish would benefit from more complexity. There is a lovely spicy aftertaste that hangs around for 30+ seconds, completing a very appealing Coutet that should give three decade's of drinking pleasure. -- Neal Martin

(91-92) Pleasant center palate to this young Barsac. Medium-bodied and very sweet, but lacks a bit of botrytis for me.
