(93-95) Similarly inky colored, the 2018 Château Mangot Todeschini is a step up, offering terrific purity and intensity in its black raspberry and cassis fruits as well as more lead pencil and mineral-laced aromas and...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, April 2019

(93 - 95)Blended of 85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep garnet-purple colored 2018 Mangot is a little closed to begin, unfurling to show off bright blackberry, crushed blueberries and warm...

( 92-94) Showing a dark color, the wine offers flowers, black cherry, licorice, cocoa yielding almost velvet textures in the opulent finish. This represents a new direction here as the wines are now aged in a combination...

A balanced, pretty wine with firm, sleek tannins that are polished and refined. Blackberry, bark and chocolate undertones. Medium body. Delicious finish. Try after 2023.

The 2018 Distique 11 is laced with inky blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice and mint. Pliant and supple, this inviting, mid-weight Saint-Émilion has a lot to offer. The racy style is undeniably appealing. The 2018 is a...

Chateau Mangot is a Right Bank Bordeaux estate situated in the east of the Saint-Emilion appellation, within the boundaries of Saint Etienne de Lisse. The estate has a long history dating back to 1546, described in 1559 as having plots of vines planted in ‘belts’ and ‘lines’.

The estate’s 85-acre vineyard is planted primarily with Merlot complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The average age of the vines is 40 years with some Merlot parcels over 60 years of age. The vineyard has four zones of terroir that include 21 separate plots at altitudes between 115 and 280 feet. Soils are mostly clay and limestone making for interesting final blends. The greater limestone presence also gives the Mangot wines density and fullness while retaining freshness, tightness and minerality.
