The painterly, steep-sloped Clos de l'Arlot is planted with vines that have an average age of more than 50 years and is always among the best and most harmonious wines of Nuits-St-Georges. Deeply coloured and concentrated, with scented 45% new wood, savoury red fruit flavours, nuanced tannins and a precise, well-balanced finish. Classy stuff.

(92 - 94 points) The 2018 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos de l'Arlot is showing well, even at this early stage, opening in the glass with aromas of cherries, licorice, sweet spices and subtle soil tones. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, velvety and supple, with lively balancing acids and promising back-end grip.- WK

The 2018 Nuits-Saint-Georges Clos de L’Arlot 1er Cru was completely de-stemmed, unlike recent vintages. This is obvious on the nose that is very different from the 2017, more fruit-driven, less sous-bois character with dark cherries, wild strawberry and light briary aromas. The palate is medium-bodied, very smooth and refined, a little more saline than the 2017, although I miss the whole bunch element towards the finish.
