Deep ruby. Shy still on the nose, the blackcurrant and signature Cabernet leafiness requires a little time to reveal itself – beautiful when it does. The palate is structured, the tannins taut and unresolved but ripe. The dense dark fruit at the core is also ripe, balanced by a refreshing acidity that cleanses and lifts the finish. There is lovely coolness to this wine’s profile. Savoury, a little ‘old school’ and eminently drinkable for it. This wine needs time to evolve and relax into itself. Drinking now, I would recommend decanting. Otherwise, wait another two years and then enjoy over at least a decade.
