Aged in 100% new French oak, it manages to avoid being overbearingly woody, with the concentrated fruit sufficient to stand up to the oak. This wine has sort of a sweetish nose with ripe blackberries, vanilla and dark chocolate in its profile. Some cedar, too. Full-bodied with chewy tannins and a juicy, round-textured finish.
