(93-95 points) Pale to mid-lemon. As always, this wine has a powerful deep white fruit nose, even with a few spices. Everything has been concentrated, including the acidity. Terrific finish, not just in the length, but the quality of the flavour. A selection – some gets declassified. Top stuff!

Ripe, juicy yellow-plum and pear flavors are calibrated by a fresh mineral undertone in this voluptuous expression of one Burgundy's most celebrated vineyards. Matured 12 to15 months in 25% new oak, it's a big, powerful wine adorned in layers of sweet spice, smoke and dill undertones, but held upright by a spine of acidity. (92 - 94 points) Mingling aromas of citrus zest and pear with hints of white flowers, buttered toast and almonds, Drouhin's 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches Blanc (Domaine) is medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, with lively acids and a gourmand profile, concluding with a saline finish.- WK

(91-93 points) The 2019 Beaune Clos des Mouches Blanc 1er Cru, which is a selection from six different tries through the vineyard, has an intense nose, slightly Alsace-like in style thanks to a hint of linseed oil intermingling with yellow plum and orange blossom. The palate is well balanced with a tensile opening. Lovely orange pith and nectarine notes here. Not a voluminous wine, but very focused on the finish. Excellent. -- Neal Martin

Lacy and pure on the nose with aromatic, fresh notes of acacia flowers, sweet peaches, apricots, lemon curd and a tinge of brioche. There is inspiring acidity, despite coming from a warmer vintage, which really adds zest and sense of weightlessness to this fuller bodied wine. Extended lees contact no doubt has added to its freshness and complexity. It finishes mineral and fresh.
