Blueberries, purple fruit and lavender. Crushed stones and raspberries, too. Medium-bodied and so fresh and vivid, with creamy tannins and a really long finish. Touch of vanilla. Just delicious. Drink now.

CrossBarn began as just one small lot of Cabernet Sauvignon from the 2000 vintage but its popularity has inspired the introduction of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and more. With CrossBarn, Paul ventures beyond the vineyards sourced for Paul Hobbs wines while holding to his ideals of sustainable vineyard practices and gentle winemaking techniques.

Crossbarn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is produced using hand-harvested fruit from carefully selected vineyards in prime appellations in the Napa Valley—from Coombsville to Calistoga. The wine offers structure and weight in balance with pure, concentrated fruit.

A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot, the grapes macerate and ferment for 26 days, including a 5-day cold soak. The wine is then aged in French and American oak barrels, 14% new, for 20 months.

The 2019 Paul Hobbs Crossbarn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a remarkable red wine that exemplifies the best of Napa Valley. This wine showcases the expertise of renowned winemaker Paul Hobbs and is a true testament to the region's ability to produce exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon.

In the glass, this wine reveals a deep, rich red color that hints at its intensity and complexity. On the nose, the aromas are fresh and lifted, with notes of black cherry, savoury black olive, liquorice, and cedar. These aromas are complemented by a touch of dried herbs, adding depth and complexity to the bouquet.

The palate of the 2019 Paul Hobbs Crossbarn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is full-bodied and plush, with a dense, dark-fruited character that is both enticing and satisfying. The sanguine minerality adds a distinct element to the wine, enhancing its overall elegance. Vibrant blood-orange acidity provides a refreshing lift to the palate, while muscular tannins provide structure and balance. The finish is long and lingering, with a sweet blueberry note that leaves a lasting impression.

Notable wine experts have praised this wine for its exceptional quality. Decanter awarded it a score of 94, describing it as having a "dusting of dried herbs, all framed by muscular tannins and finishing with a sweet blueberry note." James Suckling also gave it a score of 94, highlighting its freshness and vividness, with creamy tannins and a really long finish. Jeb Dunnuck awarded it a score of 92, noting its value and round, sexy 2019 style.

The 2019 Paul Hobbs Crossbarn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine that can be enjoyed now, but also has the potential to age gracefully for 7-8 years. It pairs beautifully with rare beef or lamb, making it a versatile choice for a variety of occasions. With its exceptional quality and reasonable price, this wine is truly one of the top values in Napa Valley Cabernet.
