Alive on the nose: apple, pear, lemon, apricot, some stone fruit nuances, still with sweetness lingering at the back. Structured and detailed, nuanced with slight creamy peach tones, caramel, lemon rind, orange and a hint of jasmine. I like the delicacy and precision of flavour, yet this is broad with density and weight. A little shy stil, a large frame, more pronounced than some with a slight lingering heat and enjoybale bitterness at the back of the throat.

Stands out in the vintage, with clear breadth and weight through the mid palate, delivering up marmalade, bitter orange and mandarin zest, well balanced sweetness and acidity, with cut glass precision and slate texture. 16hl/ha yield, with almost equal amounts of time in barrel and stainless steel vat for ageing.

(WA 94-96 points) Pale lemon-gold in color, the 2020 Doisy Daëne shoots from the glass with vibrant scents of lime cordial, orange blossoms and preserved ginger, plus suggestions of wild mushrooms, honey-drizzled pears and nutmeg. The palate is seductively rich and viscous with a beautifully balanced backbone of acidity and loads of earth and spice accents complementing the preserved citrus flavors, finishing long, lifted and lively. The 2020 Doisy-Daëne has a wonderful bouquet with wild honey, saffron, white chocolate and quince, very focused and has one of the most intense noses you will find in this vintage. The palate is exquisite in terms of balance; a razor-sharp line of acidity effortlessly slices through the layered botrytized fruit. This is a magnificent Barsac. -- Neal Martin

The perfume with its array of ripe and overripe tropical fruits, yellow plums, white peach and candied orange rind with an array of spices hits the spot. The palate, with all of its layers of zesty, sweet, honey-coated, and yellow fruits is even better. The jolt of racy acidity, giving the white peach, yellow tropical fruit and candied orange rind in the endnote seals the deal! Drink from 2023-2055.
