Ripe black plum and cassis fruit aromas, with an undercurrent of dark chocolate, while on the palate the wine retains a fresh texture. Definitely 'brûlée' but still very elegant. This parcel of 0.26ha, planted in 1969, is north of the road that leads to the Hautes-Côtes, on terraces next to Eugénie and opposite Pascal Mugneret and Méo.

(93-95 points) The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Aux Brûlées 1er Cru offers dark berry fruit on the nose, touches of pressed iris petals, flint and light truffle aromas. A little surly at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, fine balance, gentle build in the mouth with a precise, quite saline finish. Very fine mineralite here, this is a superb Aux Brûlées. (91-94 points) Ripe dense concentrated purple. A wealth of sultry dark fruit, at this stage the smoky notes don’t really show. Lightly overpowerful though with inky super concentrated cherries, quite a few tannins, and then some acidity. Black fruit and liquorice finish.
