(92-94 points) The 2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Perrières opens in the glass with aromas of wild berries, black cherries and sweet spices. Medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, it combines elevated ripeness with vibrant acids, concluding with a long, intensely mineral finish. - WK

The powerful imprint from the warm summer of 2020 is quite apparent in the Chevillon family’s Perrières, as this wine has the broad shoulders and rock solid core in this vintage that one normally associates with the Pruliers or Vaucrains bottlings here! But, there is excellent potential here for the patient, as the superb nose delivers scents of black cherries, black plums, raw cocoa, bonfire, a bit of balsam bough, stony soil tones and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and quite powerfully built, with a sappy core, excellent mineral drive and grip, ripe, well-integrated tannins and a long, complex and chewy finish.

(90-92 points) The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Perrières 1er Cru has an intriguing bouquet with pressed iris flowers, a slightly more "gourmand" nose that opens nicely with aeration. The palate is tight, a little chewy on the entry, perhaps the Chaignots showing a little more precision and tension at the moment. (Drink between 2025-2040) - Neal Martin
