In 1990, after fifteen years of making world-class Bordeaux-varietal wines under the famous Duckhorn label, owners Dan and Margaret Duckhorn embraced their growing love of Pinot Noir. The vision for Goldeneye was simple - to start a winery that could make a terroir-inspired expression of California Pinot Noir of equal stature to the acclaimed Merlots they had pioneered at Duckhorn Vineyards in Napa Valley.

They knew that the finest Pinot Noir thrives in very different conditions than Merlot. They found what they were looking for in the Anderson Valley, an appellation that had all the ingredients for producing world-class Pinot. In 1996, Goldeneye Winery was founded and the first estate vineyard was selected. A year later, Goldeneye harvested its first grapes, a modest 7 tons of estate fruit yielding 375 cases of wine, which were released in March of 2000.

Today, Goldeneye features the appellation’s preeminent Pinot Noir estate program, which spans the valley and includes four estate vineyards and more than 200 acres under vine. Their style has become the benchmark for the region, and has catapulted Goldeneye to the ranks of the world’s finest Pinot Noir.

Introducing the exquisite 2021 Goldeneye (Duckhorn) Pinot Noir, a red wine that showcases the elegance and complexity of the Pinot Noir varietal. With its vibrant red color and enticing aromas, this wine is sure to captivate even the most discerning palates.

Hailing from the esteemed Anderson Valley in the Mendocino sub-appellation of California's North Coast region, this wine is a true testament to the exceptional terroir of the area. The Goldeneye (Duckhorn) winery, known for their commitment to crafting exceptional Pinot Noir, has truly outdone themselves with this vintage.

On the nose, this Pinot Noir reveals a bouquet of ripe raspberries and mulberries, inviting you to delve deeper into its aromatic profile. As you take your first sip, you will be greeted by a burst of juicy raspberry and mulberry flavors that dance across your palate. These luscious fruit notes are beautifully complemented by subtle hints of pine forest, red tea, and wet earth, adding layers of complexity to the wine.

This Pinot Noir possesses a fleshy and juicy texture that coats your mouth, creating a truly pleasurable drinking experience. The finish is lightly toasted, leaving a lingering impression that entices you to take another sip. With its well-balanced acidity and velvety tannins, this wine can be enjoyed now or cellared for further development.

Awarded an impressive score of 92 points by Wine Spectator, this wine has received well-deserved acclaim. A total of 21,000 cases were produced, a testament to the popularity and demand for this exceptional vintage.

Whether you are a Pinot Noir enthusiast or a wine connoisseur seeking a remarkable tasting experience, the 2021 Goldeneye (Duckhorn) Pinot Noir is a wine that will not disappoint. Indulge in its luxurious flavors and discover the true essence of Anderson Valley in every sip.
