(93-95 points) The 2022 Tour Saint Christophe, 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, is deep garnet-purple in color. It bounds out of the glass with exuberant notions of baked blueberries, juicy black plums, and boysenberry...

Always a reliable, consistent name, classified in 2022, a good quality wine with plenty of enjoyable brambled berry fruits. High alcohol as so many of these later ripening clay-limestone terroirs in the vintage, but it...

Chateau Tour Saint Christophe is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc grown on clay and limestone soil. The sorted grapes are put directly into concrete tanks or Bordeaux barrels (about 25% of the harvest). This follows the method of Vinification Intégrale, particularly well-suited for the Chateau Tour Saint Christophe terroir.

The wine is aged in the same barrels for 15-18 months at constant temperature in the underground cellar. Depending on the vintage, the proportion of new oak varies from 30% to 40% with the balance using 1- and 2-year old barrels.

The 2022 Tour Saint Christophe is a Bordeaux blend composed of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, produced in the Saint Emilion sub-region of Bordeaux, France. This red wine, with its deep purple hue, has received high praise from several reputable wine reviewers, making it one of the standout wines of its vintage.

Jeff Leve of TheWineCellarInsider.com awards this wine an impressive score of 97 points, describing it as "rich, lush, and packed with layers of chalk, black cherries, chocolate, espresso and 5 spice." He highlights its "creamy, vibrant" finish and notes the wine's composition, which includes a 15% alcohol content and a pH of 3.45. He also mentions that the harvest took place between September 10 and October 3, with yields of 39 hectoliters per hectare.

Jeb Dunnuck, with a score of 96 points, praises the wine's "great nose of red plums, cassis, chalky minerality, and spice." He emphasizes the wine's balance, pure mouthfeel, fine tannins, and outstanding length, declaring that "the purity of fruit here is truly terrific."

James Suckling, also rating the wine at 96 points, uses more evocative language, mentioning aromas of "iodine, crushed stone, salt, oyster shell, ink pot," and calling the palate "exceptional" with "fine tannins and electric acidity." He notes the wine's pH of 3.48 and alcohol content just under 15%.

From Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Yohan Castaing gives it 93 points, noting "dark berries, blackberries, and licorice" with a "fleshy core of fruit and powdery tannins." He describes the finish as long and concentrated, deeming it "a real success."

Jane Anson, also rating it 93 points, highlights the wine's "inky damson, beautiful texture, and glass staining color," mentioning its "intense dark berry fruit, oyster-shell salinity, and tension."

Neal Martin of Vinous concurs with a 93-point rating, describing the wine as having a "nicely detailed, quite fresh and airy bouquet" with a "harmonious, velvety finish."

Decanter gives the wine 94 points, appreciating its "gorgeously scented nose, smooth, round, and focused" profile, with "fine tannins" and a "strict tang."

Lastly, The Wine Independent, with a score of 95 points, describes the wine as "deep garnet-purple in color," bursting with "baked blueberries, juicy black plums, and boysenberry preserves," and finishing with "velvety tannins and plenty of freshness."

In summary, the 2022 Tour Saint Christophe is a highly acclaimed Bordeaux blend, noted for its rich, layered palate, fine tannins, and excellent aging potential.
