Chateau Troplong-Mondot is grown on extensive vineyards rich in limestone and clay soils. Powerful and well-structured with pronounced complex tannins, its deep aromas of truffles and blackberries develop over time.

The grapes are hand-harvested, totally destemmed, and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, moving to oak barrels for secondary malolactic fermentation. The wine is matured in oak barrels (75% new oak and 25% one-year old) for 12 to 24 months depending on the vintage. The average production of the grand vin is between 60,000 to 90,000 bottles.

The 2022 Troplong-Mondot Bordeaux Blend from Saint Emilion, Bordeaux, France, is a remarkable red wine produced by Troplong-Mondot. This vintage has garnered exceptional reviews across the board, with several critics awarding near-perfect scores.

Jeff Leve from TheWineCellarInsider.com rated it between 97-99 points, praising its rich, deep, and full-bodied nature. He describes the wine as having "gentle, vibrant, and elegant" textures with a lingering finish that showcases sweet red and black fruits, a salted orange citrus tone, and a chalky character. Leve highlights the blend's composition of 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2% Cabernet Franc, with an alcohol content of 14.9% and a pH of 3.48.

Jeb Dunnuck from jebdunnuck.com also awarded it 99 points, calling it "the finest wine to date under the new team and direction." He notes the wine's vivid purple hue and sensational notes of black raspberries, cassis, acacia flowers, and graphite, underpinned by chalky minerality. Dunnuck emphasizes the wine's "flawless balance, ultra-fine tannins, no hard edges, and a great, great finish."

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate gave the wine a perfect score of 100 points, with William Kelley stating that the 2022 vintage "transcended both my lofty expectations and anything produced at this address in the last 50 years." Kelley describes the wine as full-bodied, deep, and multidimensional, with aromas of dark berries, cherries, exotic spices, bay leaf, and orange zest. He highlights its incredible concentration without weight, supple tannins, and a seamless profile, concluding with a long, saline finish.

James Suckling rated it 98 points, noting its "very attractive aromas of plums and chocolate with hints of raspberry bush and hazelnut." He appreciates its fresh and savory quality, medium to full body, and wide tannin structure that shows depth and length.

Jane Anson from janeanson.com also gave it 98 points, describing it as having a violet edge with an inky core. She notes the expert delivery of energy, powerful tannins, and a saline twist, with flavors of dried rosemary, white pepper spice, fresher blueberry, and loganberry fruits.

Vinous, with a score of 98 points, highlights the wine's elegance, seamless layers, and remarkable purity of fruit. Antonio Galloni mentions that the estate was selective, bottling only about 70% of the production as Grand Vin.

Decanter awarded it a perfect score of 100 points, praising its concentrated vintage, poise, and precision. The review describes it as "sharp, sleek, sour, bright and cool," with layers of flavor and depth, and a mix of bright red and black berries, wet stone, liquorice, dark chocolate, and graphite.

Wine Enthusiast rated it 99 points, noting its silky texture, ripe black tannins, fine acidity, and black fruits. Roger Voss calls it "one of the best from this estate in many years," highlighting its great tension, depth, and long-term promise.

Overall, the 2022 Troplong-Mondot Bordeaux Blend is a standout wine with exceptional reviews, showcasing its depth, complexity, and elegance.
