Chateau Troplong-Mondot is grown on extensive vineyards rich in limestone and clay soils. Powerful and well-structured with pronounced complex tannins, its deep aromas of truffles and blackberries develop over time.

The grapes are hand-harvested, totally destemmed, and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, moving to oak barrels for secondary malolactic fermentation. The wine is matured in oak barrels (75% new oak and 25% one-year old) for 12 to 24 months depending on the vintage. The average production of the grand vin is between 60,000 to 90,000 bottles.

The 2022 Troplong-Mondot Bordeaux Blend is a red wine from the esteemed region of Saint Emilion in Bordeaux, France. This vintage showcases the expert craftsmanship of Troplong-Mondot, with a blend of 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2% Cabernet Franc. It exemplifies the quality and character expected from this renowned producer.

Jeff Leve from The Wine Cellar Insider describes the wine as "rich, deep, full-bodied, concentrated, and intense," noting its "silky, lush, creamy textures" and "sweet, red, and black fruits" with a "salted, orange citrus tone." He awards it an impressive score of 99 points. Jeb Dunnuck also rates it at 99 points, praising its "flawless balance" and "ultra-fine tannins," calling it "the finest wine to date under the new team and direction."

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate gives the wine a perfect score of 100 points, highlighting its ability to "realize all the potential of this striking terroir." William Kelley notes its "incredible concentration without weight" and "a long, saline finish." Decanter joins in with another perfect score, remarking on its "ultimate poise and precision," describing it as "supple and succulent" with "silky, balanced acidity."

James Suckling finds the aromas of "plums and chocolate" with "hints of raspberry bush and hazelnut" very attractive, rating it at 98 points. Jane Anson comments on its "contained power" and "expert construction," while Vinous's Antonio Galloni calls it "one of the most elegant wines" from Troplong-Mondot, awarding it 98 points.

In summary, the 2022 Troplong-Mondot is a standout vintage, earning high praise from multiple reviewers. Its expert balance, refined tannins, and complex flavors make it a wine of exceptional quality and promise for the future.
