Domaine Tollot-Beaut et Fils’ Aloxe-Corton 2023 is a village-level Burgundy Pinot Noir from the Corton hill in the Côte de Beaune, made by a long-established, family-run estate based in Chorey-lès-Beaune. The domaine, founded in the late 1880s and now managed by cousins Nathalie, Jean‑Paul, and Olivier Tollot, farms a broad range of holdings in and around Beaune. This bottling comes from four estate parcels totaling about 2 hectares, with vines planted between 1973 and 1993 on the southern and western slopes around Aloxe-Corton. The fruit was picked September 8–9, 2023, and the wine was aged about 18 months in French oak, roughly 30% new.

Aloxe-Corton is often valued for delivering some of the structure associated with the grand cru slope above, and this wine follows that pattern with a firm frame around fresh, expressive fruit. The house description points to “vivid red cherry and plum fruit, violet floral notes, earthy undertones, bright acidity, and moderate tannins,” setting expectations for a Pinot Noir that aims for classic balance more than ripeness or sweetness.

The strongest published assessment to date is an excellent 92-point review from Wine Spectator (July 31, 2026). The magazine highlights aromatic lift and polished structure, calling out “piercing scents of rose, raspberry, cherry, kirsch, vanilla and toasty oak” in what it describes as an “elegant red.” Wine Spectator also notes that it is “solidly built, with a line of firm yet refined tannins,” and that it “plays out gracefully on the long, mineral-tinged finish.” For those buying with the cellar in mind, Wine Spectator’s suggested drinking window—“Best from 2028 through 2042”—signals both concentration and underlying balance, with enough tannin and acidity to support extended aging.

Overall, this is a straightforward, traditionally styled Aloxe-Corton: floral and red-fruited up front, structured through the middle, and finished with a clear mineral edge.
