Fresh and crisp, this is bright with acidity as well as warmer fruitiness. It brings out the dry Laurent-Perrier style, balanced by soft creamed apples and fragrant acidity. Light and fruity at the end, it is ready to drink.

The Laurent-Perrier NV Brut is a blend of 50% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 15% Meunier, and is based on 2009 plus 15-30% reserve wines from two or three vintages. Citrus colored, this signature LP has a refined, fresh and elegant nose with brioche and delicate citrus flavors. Lean, refined and elegant on the palate, this is a dry and silky textured, vivacious, and perfectly fresh and balanced aperitif Champagne. It does not have the opinion-dividing thrill and tension of the Ultra Brut, but will probably find more friends. - Stephan Reinhardt

Pale straw color with a very active bead. Bright and forward aromas of crisp apple leap from the glass combining nicely with other fresh fruit flavors. On the palate orchard fruits give way to chalky minerals tapering towards an elegant finish. A beautiful interpretation of an elegant chardonnay-based Champagne this is clean and focused with real character. One of the top NV cuvées from the grandes marques in the 2010 Champagne Report. With its composition marked by a high percentage of Chardonnay, Laurent-Perrier Brut is the signature House style, offering freshness, lightness and elegance.

It is a blend of 50% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, and 15% Pinot Meunier, all harvested manually. Over 55 crus, rated an average 94%, are used to make it. Up to 20% of reserve wine is sometimes included to guarantee the quality and consistency of the Laurent-Perrier style.

Laurent-Perrier Brut has a fresh, pale gold color that highlights its delicate, persistent bead. Perfumed floral notes come together with citrus and stone fruit. Mellowness, finesse and freshness combine to achieve a remarkable balance and a long, satisfying finish.

Winery

Laurent-Perrier

The House of Laurent-Perrier was founded in 1812 by Andre Michel Pierlot, a negociant in the wines of Champagne. His son Alphonse Pierlot, not having any heirs, subsequently bequeathed the House to his cellar master, Eugene Laurent.

Following his death in 1887, Eugene’s widow, Mathilde Emilie Perrier, took the helm of the business and combined her own name with that of her husband, naming the business “Veuve Laurent-Perrier”. Eugenie-Hortense Laurent succeeded her mother in 1925. Hard-hit by the economic crisis between the wars and heavily in debt, she sold the estate to Marie-Louise de Nonancourt in 1939.

Bernard de Nonancourt dedicated his life to a single passion: Laurent-Perrier. His courage, convictions and energy transformed a small Champagne House purchased by his mother in 1939 into a global brand. Keen on innovation, strongly attached to champagne traditions and to quality, he forged the commercial culture of Laurent-Perrier and created a renowned brand with a range of unique champagnes.

Up until his death on 29 October 2010, he made his vibrant stamp on the House of Laurent-Perrier, which will remain forever. The continued success of Laurent-Perrier is now overseen by his two daughters, Alexandra Pereyre de Nonancourt and Stephanie Meneux de Nonancourt. They offer a full range of Champagnes, from Ultra-Brut to Demi-Sec, the vintage-dated Brut Millesime and Alexandra Rose, and their tete-de-cuvee, Grand Siecle.
