A blend of 70% pinot noir and 30% chardonnay, this has a complex and sophisticated nose that delivers peach fruits and citrus, plus some bolder yellow plum fruits too. The palate is assertive, energetic and concentrated with peach and nectarine flavors met with lemony acidity. Long, really powerful Champagne here. Drink now or age on cork for three or more years. - Nick Stock

A mouthwatering, seamless Champagne that caresses the palate like raw silk, with vibrant acidity framing rich and finely meshed flavors. Disgorged December 2015. Drink now through 2022. — A.N.

The NV Grand Cellier Premier Cru Brut offers a very clear and precise bouquet with citrus and some smoky/flinty flavors. Pure, clear and fresh on the palate, very precise and mineral, this is a remarkably finesse-full and expressive Champagne. It was disgorged in June 2015 with nine grams of dosage, but it tastes significantly more dry. The finish is full of tension and minerals, which makes this a seriously expressive Champagne of great elegance and ageing potential. The blend is 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir. - Stephan Reinhardt

The NV Grand Cellier is soft, open-knit and creamy, but as always done in the restrained, mid-weight style that is the house signature. Lemon confit, white flowers and mint open up first, followed by bright, chalky notes that extend the finish. This is a terrific showing from the Grand Cellier. This release is based on 2013, with reserve wines from 2012 and 2011. Dosage is 9 grams per liter. Disgorged December 2015.

Tightly wound, the Vilmart takes some coaxing but has a lot on offer. The nose has a very focused mineral and chalky edge to it with a breadth of layers underneath. Fuji apple skin, brioche, grapefruit pith, tarragon, and a touch of anise. That palate comes across with a lovely, fine mousse and flavors reminiscent of the nose but with perhaps deeper fruit. This is delicious now and should only gain complexity and nuance with time. Drink now through 2022.
