2014 Schramsberg Brut Rose
by JJ Buckley Fine Wines
On Sale $33.94 (reg. $38.94)
As the holiday celebration season seems to start earlier and earlier every year, we certainly always make sure to have a good stock of quality bubbles on hand, because you just never know when they’ll come in handy (but they always do!). Schramsberg’s vintage Brut Rose is one of our favorite choices to fit that anytime, anywhere need because in California there really are few vintage sparklers that are as delicious, versatile, and affordable as this rose. A vibrant and tasty blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, the 2014 Brut exudes strawberry, melon, and red flowers. It has the full richness of a vintage Champagne, but no shortage of refreshing California fruit!
For traditionally made sparkling wine, experience matters, as the long histories of Champagne’s best houses have proved. Schramsberg is California’s answer to Champagne, and unquestionably one of California’s most historic wineries. Founded in 1862, Schramsberg is one the oldest names in Napa. After being restored by Jack and Jamie Davies in 1962, Schramsberg grew into the quintessential California producer of sparkling wine, gracing state dinners and countless celebrations ever since.
The 2014 Brut Rose is a gorgeous dry, flavorful sparkler that is infinitely versatile and a welcome foil for any food or occasion. The price is right for a casual get together of friends and family, but still compares well to Champagne at twice the price! Cheers!
