“Pinch me: I think I’m dreaming” wrote one Oregon producer about what has been yet another wow inducing vintage in the Willamette Valley. Along with ‘12 and ‘14, the 2015 vintage has created another perfect storm for fans of Oregon Pinot, as quality and quantity are both off the charts. This is a perfect situation for quality oriented producers like Beaux Freres to help get some of their exceptionally popular wines out to folks like you. Today’s 2015 Beaux Freres Pinot Noir is explosively aromatic with a textural richness that hints at what’s to come.
Beaux Freres is an instrumental part of the modern Oregon wine scene. Starting out in 1986, Michael G Etzel purchased what was then a large pig ranch and started the winery with Robert Parker. While Parker’s publication was sending Cote-Rotie and Chateauneuf du Pape to new heights of popularity, it was in Oregon where he planted his stakes. The Beaux Freres vineyard is part of an 88 acre farm right dab in the middle of Ribbon Ridge, one of the tops AVAs in the Willamette.
The evolution of Beaux Freres has been an extraordinary journey. While Etzel once pursued Pinot Noir of depth and power, today he and his son Michael Jr. seek out elegance and complexity, a balancing act that has served them well in these past few warm vintages. This is one of the rare opportunities to nab some of this in demand producer’s Pinot for under 50 bucks, so don’t wait!
