Started by local sharecroppers in 1907, the family won the rights to their farmstead in a poker game, deciding to name it La Fortuna as a result. Now on its fifth generation of family ownership, this is the sort of classic, down to earth Brunello that we adore thanks to its impeccable balance and transparency. The majority of their vines are in the cooler, hilly region northwest of Montalcino neighboring Fuligni, with a handful of acres down in the warmer Castelnuovo dell'Abate area in the south.
