Full body round and delicious. Soft and velvety tannins and then a fresh lively finish. I find lots going on here. Lovely depth of fruit. Serious debut here. Documents at the property show that the vineyard has been here since the late 1800s.

Aromatic nose combines very ripe red cherry bay leaf marjoram and licorice. Enters full and ripe showing fleshy red cherry and plum flavors nicely complicated by sandalwood and sassafras nuances. Finishes long and sweet with soft tannins and excellent length. The hot year has reduced this wine's vibrancy and increased its alcohol content; I think this new bottling from a single 20-acre vineyard that has historically produced some of the estate's finest sangiovese will prove much better in more moderate growing seasons.
