The 2008 Chianti Classico Riserva possesses wonderful depth in its black cherries licorice tar smoke and leather. This is a relatively muscular vintage for the Riserva with firm yet well integrated tannins and an authoritative finish. Smoke incense and licorice reappear on the juicy finish. A powerful vein of intense minerality gives the wine its center. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2023.
