A structured red with polished tannins and subtle vanilla, chocolate and currant character on the nose and palate. Full body, with integrated tannins and a compacted palate. Builds on the palate. Muscular and intense...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, August 2019

The 2009 Flaccianello della Pieve is now hitting that very specific point in a wine's evolution in which you still identity some of the fruit, but you also get a supporting chorus of evolved aromas that enhance the...

Decanter, October 2018

Fontodi is a certified-organic estate in Tuscany that has belonged to the Manetti family since 1968. The property extends over 130 hectares, 70 planted with vines. The estate’s guiding principle is respect of nature and sustainability letting them produce wines that are better, purer, and a truer expression of the grape and the territory.

Flaccianello della Pieve is 100% Sangiovese from a selection of the best vineyards in the Colli Toscania Centrale IGT region. At the modern, gravity-fed winery, the juice ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts for at least 3 weeks. The wine ages in Troncais and Allier (French) oak barrels for 24 months.
