Wine Enthusiast, August 2018

With fruit from the Côte des Blancs, this is a classic, textured, mineral-driven Chardonnay Champagne. Its bottle age gives a toasty edge to the crisp, lively grapefruit and bitter orange flavors. Well balanced, this...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, June 2018

Let it breathe a few minutes in the glass and Pol Roger's 2009 Brut Blanc de Blancs becomes truly exciting! Sourced in Oiry, Chouilly, Cramant, Avize and Oger (all grands crus from the Côte des Blancs), the wine opens...

jamessuckling.com, October 2017

This has an air of ripeness with gently candied praline and grilled ripe peach fruits. The palate delivers lemon pastry and a smooth, custard-like texture. Really supple and fleshy. One to drink early.

Wine Spectator, September 2018

Crisp and minerally, this tightly meshed, linear Champagne layers flavors of mirabelle plum, biscuit, smoke, white cherry and pickled ginger on the lacy mousse. Racy finish. Drink now through 2030. — A.N.

View From The Cellar, May 2017

Pol Roger is one of the oldest and most-distinguished luxury Champagne firms. Based in the heart of Epernay, it was established in 1849 and remains one of the few family-owned, grande-marquee Champagne houses. Five generations have remained loyal to the firm’s essential values of excellence and independence, ensuring that each wine is treated as an impeccable ambassador to their 160 years of history.

Pol Roger has carved out one of the most flattering reputations in the select circle of the leading Champagne brands. A personal favorite of Sir Winston Churchill (who has the firm’s top cuvee named after him), Pol Roger champagne has also been the British Royal Family’s choice over the years.

The house grows more than half its grapes on 89 estate hectares and sources the rest from select growers. Their cellars extend below the Avenue de Champagne for over seven kilometers on two levels. The deeper cellar maintains a lower temperature for the wine to develop finer bubbles.

The Pol Roger portfolio includes a vintage brut, a non-vintage brut, a brut nature, a demi sec, a vintage rose, a blanc de blancs and the Sir Winston Churchill prestige cuvee.

The Brut Blanc de Blancs is exclusively made from Chardonnay grapes selected from the Grands Cru of the Cote des Blancs: Oiry, Chouilly, Cramant, Avize and Oger. Produced in limited quantities, this cuvee is aged for 7 to 9 years in the cellars before being released onto the market.
