93+ Ethereal and elegant, the 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a very interesting wine in that it does not show the underpinning power and determination that you see with most Brunellos in this vintage. This expression is far more feminine and graceful. Instead of power, the message here is streamlined elegance. The bouquet is held together with wild berry, spice and balsam herb aromas. The delivery is tight and focused. Like the Brunello Annata from 2011, this wine shows a beautiful mineral side with pencil shaving and crushed granite. This is a memorable Brunello. - Monica Larner
