jamessuckling.com, October 2017

A rich year with low yields and a perfectly warm summer. The nose is all chalky, oyster shell and dried berries. Plenty of powerful wild red fruit. Super focused with a very crisp, linear, acid drive. Pink grapefruit to...

Wine Enthusiast, December 2017

This mature generous wine is perfectly ready to drink. Its red fruits are now balanced by a toasty character as well as ripe acidity and a touch of tannin. This is a very fine wine, balanced and rich. Drink now.

Wine Spectator, October 2018

Vibrant acidity frames expressive flavors of poached apricot, mandarin orange peel, toasted brioche and almond blossom in this well-knit, pale, salmon-hued Champagne, while the lacy mousse carries an echoing streak...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, April 2019

Roederer's 2012 Brut Rosé is showing well, offering up pretty aromas of apples, freshly baked bread and tangerine. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with a generous core of succulent fruit, a youthfully frothy...

In 1845, at a time when majority of winemakers were buying the grapes rather than cultivating their own, Louis Roederer took a visionary approach. Wanting to master every aspect of the wine’s creation, he acquired several Grand Cru vineyards in Verzenay. Since then, every Louis Roederer vintage originates exclusively from their own vines. Its tete-de-cuvee, Louis Roederer Cristal, is among the finest Champagnes in the world.

The estate, which originally comprised 100 hectares acquired in 1850, now extends over 240 hectares, carefully chosen from the best terroirs of the Montagne de Reims, the Cote des Blancs, and the Vallee de la Marne. The estate cultivates 3 traditional grape varieties: Chardonnay for its minerality, finesse, and elegance; Pinot Noir’s solid constitution which adds structure to the blends and prepares the wine for aging; and Pinot Meunier whose adaptability brings harmony and softness to certain cuvees.

The Louis Roederer House has remained an independent, family-owned company and is now managed by Frederic Rouzaud, who represents the seventh generation of the lineage.
