Vigna d’Alceo is Castello dei Rampolla’s first biodynamic wine. It represents a union between the two generations of the Castello dei Rampolla winery: Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot as the founder Alceo, wished and biodynamic as his children, Luca and Maurizia, practice.

The wine is fermented in concrete, then aged in 500L barrels for 12-15 months and in bottle for 18-24. It fully reflects the character of the vineyard from which it originates. It is intense, warm, refined and elegant.Well-ripened red fruits blend perfectly with delicate notes of cigar and tobacco - an amazing concentration with no heaviness.

The 2018 Castello dei Rampolla Vigna d'Alceo IGT is a proprietary blend primarily composed of Cabernet Sauvignon (85%) and Petit Verdot (15%). This Tuscan red wine, produced by Castello dei Rampolla, is notable for its robust yet refined character, with an alcohol content of 14.5%. It is sealed with a traditional cork closure.

Antonio Galloni of Vinous awarded this wine an exceptional score of 99, describing it as "wild, exotic" and "exceptionally beautiful." He highlighted its sumptuous layers and inky blue/purplish fruit, along with notes of sage, mint, lavender, and chocolate.
