In an excellent 92-point review, Rebecca Gibb MW of Vinous calls it “super succulent and already welcoming,” noting that it remains “elegan[t] and balance[d] despite the warmth of the vintage.” Her note emphasizes a mix of fruit purity and savory detail—“smoky bacon and black tea”—along with “subtle signs of savoriness and tobacco” as it starts to open.

Texture and tannin management appear central to the wine’s style. Gibb highlights “the nature of the fine tannins” as “all-encompassing,” framing the 2020 as more about cohesion and drinkability than sheer power. She also sets expectations clearly: “While it may not be the longest wine in the world, the 2020 retains a sense of finesse and poise.”
