Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, September 2022

They shortened the élevage of the white 2021 Pedra de Guix to 11 months, and they also stopped using the 1,800-liter foudre, where the wine partially aged in the past, and now it's matured in concrete vats (diamond-shaped...

James Suckling awarded this wine a score of 95 points in his review from September 18, 2023. Suckling notes, "More intensity here with a very subtle nutty edge. Pine nuts, dried pineapples, lemon peel and stones. Saline and concentrated in flavor but nothing hefty here. Fine tannins and bright acidity extend to a long, savory finish. Drink now or hold." This description highlights the wine's nuanced complexity and balanced nature, suggesting it is both approachable and capable of aging.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate rated the wine even higher, with a score of 96 points. In a review dated September 30, 2022, the publication highlights significant changes in the production process that have influenced the wine's profile. "They shortened the élevage of the white 2021 Pedra de Guix to 11 months, and they also stopped using the 1,800-liter foudre, where the wine partially aged in the past, and now it’s matured in concrete vats (diamond-shaped ones!). The wine is floral, vertical and a lot less oxidative than even the 2019, which is less oxidative than previous years. It’s a different profile of wine with very good depth and freshness. Funnily enough, this 2021 has a little more alcohol than the 2019 (13.5%), but the wine feels lighter on its feet. 4,008 bottles produced."

The 2021 vintage showcases a fresh and floral profile with significant depth. The shift to concrete vats for maturation and a shortened élevage period have resulted in a wine that is less oxidative and lighter, despite a slightly higher alcohol content compared to previous years. With only 4,008 bottles produced, this wine is both a refined and exclusive offering from Terroir al Limit.
