(96-98 points) (Pessac-Léognan; 53% Sauvignon Blanc, 47% Sémillon; final yield of 23 hl/ha; pH 3.3; 14.5% ABV; tasted at La Mission Haut-Brion). Tasted alongside La Mission blanc, this has a little more intensity, despite the lower proportion of Sémillon in the blend. It's more viscous too, the fruit less ample in frame and there's more depth to its layering. This is more serious and perhaps less ethereal in a way, but it has a staggering complexity. The aromatics are sublime, with a vivid mimosa florality that brings a sense of verticality and an aerial dimension that is stupefying. The fruits are a shade more exotic – with guava and mango alongside passionflower, but also elderberry and elderflower. The balancing contrast comes just as much from the cool, whetstone minerality as from the diversity of the zesty, citrus elements. A remarkable wine and one that changes in the glass each time you return to it. 96-98

The 2025 Haut-Brion Blanc shimmies out with energetic notes of lime cordial, fresh grapefruit, and lemon curd, leading to suggestions of orange blossoms, sea spray, and yuzu zest with a touch of struck flint. The full-bodied palate is so satiny and seductive with electric citrus fruit flavors and minerally accents, finishing very long and fragrant. Magic. The blend is 53% Sauvignon Blanc and 47% Sémillon. The alcohol is 14.55%. It was aged in French oak barrels (45% new). This was tasted as a bottled wine.

(96-98 points) This has so much more vigour and life on the nose than La Mission, coming out fighting with a pithy attack of lemon peel, lemon balm and crushed white stone, in a much more precisely defined aromatic profile. The palate which follows is fresh, polished, defined and silky, elegant yet driven at the same time. This is gorgeous, defined and texture, rather suave and sophisticated, but with perfectly balanced elements of texture, grip, energy and acidity. It shows surprisingly well now for a wine built in large part from Semillon; the Sauvignon provides the current charm, but the Semillon will come to the fore in five to ten years time; with glorious depth, fine tension and a great acid frame this will be a Haut-Brion Blanc for the ages. Come back to this in ten or more years and you will see it singing. The blend is 47% Semillon and 53% Sauvignon Blanc, the yield 23 hl/ha, and the alcohol – the only feature which makes me question my cellaring prediction – is reported to be 14.55%. 96-98/100

Waxy, lanolin, straw and citrus lemon notes on the nose alongside some soft vanilla and salted caramel aspects. Rich and round with a cool core and very defined detail from start to finish. A little quieter but with a lovely frame and texture – structured and slightly firm with a soft dusting of spice. Deep, layered, so complex and nuanced. Less showy and more introverted at this point but this will be excellent. Smoky, salty minerality, freshness and butteriness. A wine to sit with. 3.3pH. 14.5%. A yield of 23hl/ha.

Things are revving up here, totally humming, coming in for a strong finish, right up there as the best dry white of the vintage, layered with stone fruits, gorgeous texture, orange peel and liquorice. Well structured, muscular even as a white wine, with waves of fennel and bitter anis notes that add focus and draw out the closing minutes. Excellent quality. Harvest August 14 to 21. 45% new oak, 23hl/ha yield, 3.31ph.

A bigger, richer white in the vintage, as well as one of the most successful, the 2025 Château Haut-Brion Blanc reveals pear, stone fruits, spice, herbs, and a beautiful sense of minerality on the nose. Based on 53% Sauvignon Blanc and 47% Sémillon, it's rich, round, and full-bodied on the palate, with a concentrated, savory style that is dramatically different than its stablemate, the more floral, exotic La Mission Haut Brion. This beauty shines even today, yet it should have at least two decades of longevity. Drink 2026-2046.

The citrus notes jump from the glass, along with smoke, green apples, and herbs fill the aromatic profile. The palate focuses on its elegance, lift, and purity of fruit. You can taste and feel all of its pears, green apples, white peach, and tropical fruits that caress your palate. (94-97 points) Classic, deep, crunchy, intense and fine. Very subtle, with rounded spices and intense, sweet fruit. It is a more approachable wine than La Mission and has a more round, crunchy backbone and structure with a broader, sweet fruity structure. It was bottled in May 2026.

(94-96 points) The Haut-Brion 2025 Blanc, a blend of 53% Sauvignon Blanc and 47% Sémillon, was vinified in barrels and bottled from April 13. It reveals aromas of white fruits and pear, with subtly smoky, toasty notes and a touch of reductive nuance, complemented by delicate spice. Medium- to full-bodied, layered and crystalline, it’s tense and elegant and built around a remarkably fresh, fleshy core of fruit. Ethereal and finely detailed, it stands out for its purity and precision, with no overt thiolic expression. The finish is long, taut and particularly refined, delivering a very delicate and poised interpretation of Haut-Brion Blanc.

(93-95 points) The 2025 Haut-Brion Blanc handled the rigors of the vintage best of the three whites in the range. Floral, lithe and elegant, the 2025 reveals pretty notes of citrus peel, white flowers and mint. Everything about the 2025 speaks to finesse and class. - Antonio Galloni
