This creamy Champagne has a round juiciness to it that's very appealing, with a firm backbone of well-knit acidity keeping this fresh and balanced. The current release of Lanson’s Black Label is a lovely bottle of non-vintage Brut has now been in the market for a year and is really starting to blossom beautifully. I last tasted this bottling about a year ago, where it was still pretty tightly-knit, but an additional year of bottle age has allowed this wine to really start to sing, as it offers up a deep and very classy bouquet of 91+

The flagship of the brand, the NV Champagne Le Black Label Brut release is based on the 2016 vintage with 40% reserve wine spanning 10 vintages. Some of the reserve wine is aged in cask, the remainder in stainless steel. The nose is expressive and fragrant with ripe red fruits, white strawberry, red roses, and brioche. The palate is juicy and round, with primary juicy Anjou pear, Mirabel plum, and honeycomb. A crowd pleaser, this is perfect as an aperitif and for parties. Drink 2022-2030. - Audrey Frick

Disgorged on June 2023 and based on the 2018 vintage, the NV Brut Black Label has a delicate, herbal bouquet with aromas of orchard fruit, spring flowers, lemon oil and spices, followed by a medium-bodied palate with tensile and bright acids.
