A cool, airy and elegant array of soft yeast and citrus nuances add breadth to the green apple and white rose scents. There is a lovely sense of energy to the overtly yeasty medium weight flavors that possess excellent complexity on the vibrant, clean and relatively dry finish. I very much like the bold character and while the mouth feel isn’t as refined as the nose, overall this is an excellent combination of punch, complexity and muscularity. Otherwise stated, this is a robust blanc de blanc. now+

Jean-Pierre Vazart is one of my favorite growers in Chouilly and his current release of non-vintage Brut is lovely. Jean-Pierre Vazart is one of my favorite growers in Chouilly and his current release of non-vintage Brut is lovely. This is base year 2013 and is still a bit tightly-knit, but it is a fine bottle and should blossom beautifully with another six months of age. The bouquet is excellent, wafting from the glass in a blend of pear, delicious apples, hazelnut, chalky minerality, brioche and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, young and very promising, with an excellent core, frothy mousse, snappy acids and lovely focus and grip on the long finish. This is still a puppy and could use some time to unwind structurally, but the all the constituent components are in place! 2017-2030+.

Light- to medium-bodied featuring a frothy mousse offering flavors of ripe apple peach and hazelnut joined by a hint of rich marzipan. Fresh and lively with a citrusy finish. Drink now through 2015. 8000 cases made. -AN

100% chardonnay from Chouilly a premier cru vineyard in the Cotes des Blancs. About 30-40% of the cuvée is comprised of reserve wines. Pale straw in color with a good mousse and active bead. Pale straw in color with a good mousse and active bead. The bouquet is subtle showcasing hints of fresh seashell lemon zest and a distinct aroma of pound cake. Medium light in body the palate profile is elegant with a subtle midpalate presence avoiding a big creamy or structured style. Flavors of fresh citrus-laced fruit are subtle and a toasty liqueur-like note kicks in on the backpalate. The finish is delicate and fades away gently.
