Wine Spectator - Wine Spectator, March 2011
Sappy and intense with kirsch and crushed raspberry fruit aromas and flavors and superfresh acidity driving underneath. Features lots of spice and violet notes on the finish. -J.M.

Produced with assistance of Hubert de Bouard of Angelus who consults with the property the opens with oak cassis smoke and spicy scents. Supple on the palate the wine ends with a sweet licorice and blackberry filled finish.

The latter wine possesses plenty of super-ripe red and black fruits as well as hints of graphite crushed rocks and white flowers. There is elegant minerality and a medium-bodied palate but copious tannins kick in in the finish. Five to seven years of cellaring will be essential for this structured masculine effort.

Velvety and polished with lovely fruit and a mineral undertone. Full and balanced. I like the 2009 slightly better.

From gravelly soils with some clay. Hand harvested between September 29th and October 26th. Yields in 2010 were 38 hls/ha before and 30 hls/ha after sorting saignée and selection. Alcohol 14.5%. The 2010 Fieuzal Rouge shows soft elegant red and blue fruit aromas on the nose with a solid fresh fruit core on the palate. At this stage things are a tad disjointed with some alcohol showing on the finish but it shows impressive structure and lift especially at the end. Hubert de Bouard of Angelus consults.
