(92-96 points) From three plots located in Charmes-Chambertin itself. 80% new wood for this cuvée. Solid even purple throughout, a touch of reduction today which does not interfere. Very sensual, this shows grand cru class, with an exceptionally long fine finish.

The 2019 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru comes from four separate parcels and is matured in 80% new oak. This Pinot Noir has a perfumed bouquet, with crushed rose petal and violets. It is rather plush and very well delineated, quite Mazoyères in style. The palate is well balanced with lush tannins. This is a luxuriant Charmes-Chambertin, smooth, sensual and very pure. A touch of spiciness towards the finish lingers in the mouth. This is a classy Charmes-Chambertin. – By Neal Martin on July 2021

A top note of herbal tea can be found on the very ripe but fresh liqueur-like nose that is constituted by the essence of black cherry, plum and discreet warm earth and underbrush scents. The sleek, delicious and vibrant larger-scaled flavors are not as dense, but they are attractively textured thanks to the dense but fine tannins on the balanced, complex, impressively long and balanced finale.

Rebourseau owns 1.32ha in three parcels, all within the lieu-dit Aux Charmes in the upper part of the appellation. The ripe fruit is carefully fermented with about 5% of the fruit added as whole clusters. The wine is aged in barrels from François Frères, Taransaud and Rousseau. The result shows a lovely, lush red berry fruit, a silky texture and a plump feel on the palate, all consistent with the best of this appellation. (Drink between 2024-2039)

A ripe red introduced by distinctive graphite and juniper aromas, with plum, blackberry and earth notes plying the soft structure. Reveals light tannins, with a long finish marked by a flash of orange peel. Best from 2025 through 2040. 80 cases imported.
