In 1971, Giovanni Neri founded Casanova di Neri in the eastern part of Montalcino. Over time, vineyards were added in other areas. The first was the Cerretalto vineyard which has a unique terroir in a natural amphitheatre over the Asso river. The winery used its old vines, with small bunches of well-spaced grapes, to create a selection for propagation in their other vineyards.

The first Brunello harvest in the original vineyard was in 1978. Harvests in other vineyards started with Cerretalto in 1981, then Tenuta Nuova in 1993, Pietradonice in 2000 and Ibbianco in 2011. Currently the estate covers a surface of around 500 hectares of which 63 are vineyards, 20 olive groves and the rest arable land and forest.

The 2022 Casanova di Neri Rosso di Montalcino is a remarkable embodiment of the inherent elegance and complexity of the Sangiovese varietal. This exceptional wine hails from the sun-kissed vineyards of Tuscany, Italy, a region globally acclaimed for its distinctive wine-making traditions.

As you pour this wine, the first thing that arrests your senses is its resplendent red color, a captivating hue that vividly recalls the ripened cherry orchards of the Tuscan countryside. Hold it against the light, and you'll witness a dance of ruby reflections, hinting at the wine's youthful vitality and its adherence to the traditional characteristics of the Sangiovese grape.

On the nose, this Casanova di Neri Rosso di Montalcino is a symphony of aromas, an intriguing blend of ripe red fruits, wild berries, and subtle earthy notes. Swirl the glass gently, and you'll coax out additional layers of fragrant violets, sweet spices, and faint whispers of Tuscan herbs.

On the palate, it is a harmonious marriage of freshness and structure. The wine's robust character is beautifully balanced by its elegant tannins and a vibrant acidity that carries through to a satisfying, long-lasting finish. Every sip of this 2022 vintage is a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship of the producer, Casanova di Neri.

Undeniably, this wine is a culinary chameleon, pairing wonderfully with a wide range of dishes, from hearty pasta and risottos to grilled meats and aged cheeses.
