jamessuckling.com, July 2025

Impressively aromatic, showing honeysuckle, violets and lavender with bread dough and just a hint of light caramel as well as dried apples, cooked pears and tarte tatin. Reductive with graphite, stone and iodine. Some...

jebdunnuck.com, December 2025

Pouring a bright silver-yellow hue, the NV Champagne Grand Siècle Iteration No. 27 is very pretty on the nose, with notes of wet stone, delicate smokiness, apricot, and lavender. Medium-bodied, it’s long on the palate...

View From The Cellar, May 2026

The newest release of Laurent-Perrier’s “Grande Siècle”, Iteration No. 27, is composed from a three vintage blend of 2015, 2013 and 2012. In the end, sixty-five percent of the bottling is from 2015, twenty-five percent...

Vinous, May 2026

The NV Grande Cuvée Grand Siècle No. 27 is a gorgeous, complex wine. Pear, dried flowers, chamomile, mint, sage and ginger are all wonderfully dynamic in the glass. Floral and savory notes build with a bit of time in the...

Decanter, March 2026

With hot, dry 2015 the backbone of this edition (with fresher 2013 and 2012 in support), it's no surprise that this edition of Grand Siècle is a relatively forward, open one at first. It shows yellow plum, bittersweet...

Laurent-Perrier’s Grand Siècle Iteration No. 27 is the house’s prestige, multi-vintage Champagne, built to approximate a “perfect year” by blending three strong harvests rather than relying on one. For No. 27, multiple critics confirm the blend of 2015, 2013, and 2012, with 2015 as the core (reported at 65%), and a 60/40 split of Chardonnay to Pinot Noir. Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate notes the intent behind that mix: an “emphasis on Chardonnay to counterbalance the concentration of Pinot Noir.” The wine was disgorged in January 2025, and the dosage is consistently reported at 7 g/L; James Suckling also cites “nine years on the lees.”

The best reviews are outstanding. James Suckling awards 99 points, calling it “impressively aromatic” with “honeysuckle, violets and lavender,” plus “bread dough” and a “hint of light caramel,” finishing with a palate that is “full-bodied but not at all heavy, turning almost weightless.” That combination of scale and lift is echoed elsewhere. Jeb Dunnuck (98) describes a “bright silver-yellow hue” and a nose of “wet stone, delicate smokiness, apricot, and lavender,” followed by “silky complexity and pillowy mousse” with “key lime, lemon meringue, green apples, and a salty spice.” He recommends 2027–2057 and adds that it is “less obvious than No. 26,” with “delicate almond and tertiary nuances hiding underneath.”

Antonio Galloni at Vinous (96) emphasizes complexity and savory detail—“pear, dried flowers, chamomile, mint, sage and ginger”—and finds it “dynamic in the glass,” noting that a “touch of vintage 2015 savoriness…add[s] character rather than overpowering the wine.” Wine Advocate (95+) similarly highlights “pear, peach, lemon confit and freshly baked bread,” “tangy acidity,” and a “long, resonant finish,” concluding it is “yet another distinguished Grand Siècle in the making.”
