Wine Spectator, 97 points: This goes from zero to 60 right out of the gate, with an intense spine of acidity driving tightly meshed flavors of crushed black currant, ground coffee, candied grapefruit peel and toasted almond. The profile expands on...
Vinous, 94 points: Delamotte’s 2012 Brut Vintage is rich, creamy and super-expressive. This is only the second vintage (the first was 2008) in which fruit from Oiry rounds out the classic core of Le Mesnil, Oger and Cramant that forms the...
Vinous, 93 points: (91-93 points) Jadot's 2012 Beaune Theurons is quite a bit firmer and more structured than the Greves. Iron, red fruit, minerals, chalk and smoke are some of the many notes that open up in the glass. The 2012 is going to...
Wine & Spirits, 94 points: This is pinot noir from Aÿ and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, part aged in stainless steel with some malolactic conversion, part in barrels without malolactic. This wine excited me personally, having just spent some time in the...
Burghound, 92 points: This is aromatically brooding and reserved with restrained and distinctly cool aromas of both red and dark currants that are liberally laced with earth, underbrush and subtle spice nuances. There is good concentration, at...
Burghound, 91 points: There is enough wood to notice surrounding the earthy and brooding dark berry fruit and game suffused aromas. As one might reasonably expect there is markedly better richness and mid-palate concentration to the...
Vinous, 93 points: (AG91-93 points) The 2012 Clos Vougeot is another huge, explosive wine from Chézeaux in this vintage. Smoke, iron, tar, licorice and dark red fruit notes jump from the glass. Broad- shouldered, rich and intense to the...
Wine Enthusiast, 96 points: This grand cru wine is named in celebration of the date of the Philipponnat family's arrival in the village of Aÿ. It is a mature blend of 70% Pinot Noir with Chardonnay, proportions that are typical of this producer on...
Burghound, 93 points: (90-93) A background application of wood frames the very ripe aromas of cassis, black cherry, earth and a touch of the sauvage. There is a lush and opulent mouth feel to the concentrated and palate coating medium weight...
Vinous, 90 points: (ST88-90 points) Good deep red. Very deep aromas of blackberry, licorice and violet. Juicy and tight, with a slightly green, peppery edge to the dark berry fruit. In a distinctly cool style, finishing with dry-edged...
Wine Spectator, 90 points: A spicy version, boasting vanilla- and clove-studded black cherry. Polished and expressive, with a fine, lingering finish. Best from 2018 through 2027. 20 cases imported. –BS
Vinous, 89 points: Slightly liqueur-like red fruits and mint on the nose, along with a medicinal aspect. Ripe, dry, broad and concentrated, but showing a rougher texture than the 2013 version, and a bit less acidity. Finishes spicy and...
Jancis Robinson's Purple Pages, 91 points: (17.5/20) Sunny vintage. Grapes bought in from Renardes. Fermented in cask, that is rolled each day. Transparent garnet with definite evolution. Rich and sweet. Flattering yet with a kick on the finish. Open, sweet and...

I was looking for a particular wine that isn’t widely available in the USA. Not only did JJ Buckley Fine Wines have it in stock, and at a very reasonable price, they were able to ship it to me. Many out of state suppliers won’t do that. Highly recommended.
