The current release of Gosset “Grande Réserve” is drinking beautifully out of the blocks and offers plenty of potential for evolution in the cellar as well. The bouquet is bright and expressive, delivering scents of apple, white peach, a fine base of minerality, fresh-baked bread and a touch of caraway seed in the upper register. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied, complex and nicely balanced, with bright acids, refined mousse and lovely length and grip on the complex and vibrant finish. This bottle was drunk in a restaurant in Reims in March, so I do not have the technical details on this release. But, it is very tasty.
