Wine Enthusiast, December 2022

This bone-dry Champagne has been released with some bottle aging. That has softened the wine's texture and created an attractive toasty edge to the ripe apple and pear flavors. The wine is ready to drink. ROGER VOSS

Piper-Heidsieck started out as a cloth and wine trading company Heidsieck & Co which was founded by Florens-Louis Heidsieck in 1785. His distinctive champagne’s reputation quickly spread and won favor at court.

The Piper-Heidsieck Maison owns precious wine-growing land from the Montagne de Reims to the Cote des Bar. The blend of its signature cuvee is 55 to 60% Pinot Noir for structure, 10 to 15% Chardonnay grapes which add elegant nuances, 15 to 20% Pinot Meunier which enhances fruitiness, and 10 to 15% reserve wines which provide consistency from year to year.

Vinification is done separately by variety and by vineyard in order to preserve their unique characters and offer maximum blending flexibility.

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to the exquisite 9998 Piper Heidsieck Essentiel Cuvee Brut. This champagne blend hails from the prestigious Champagne region of France, where the art of winemaking is elevated to its highest form. With its elegant appearance and captivating aromas, this wine is truly a masterpiece.

In the glass, this cuvee presents itself in a stylish pale gold hue, shimmering with sophistication. The creamy mousse gently dances upon the surface, promising a delightful effervescence that will enchant your senses. As you bring the glass closer, the air is filled with the enchanting fragrance of apple blossom, a delicate and floral invitation to indulge.
